What Is an Alloy Steel Tee?

An alloy steel tee is a butt weld pipe fitting with a T-shaped configuration that connects three sections of pipe at 90-degree angles-. It serves two primary functions:

Branching: Diverting flow from the main pipeline to a secondary line
Combining: Merging flow from two lines into a single main line

Equal tees have all three outlets of the same diameter, while reducing tees feature a branch outlet of a smaller diameter than the main run—allowing seamless transitions between different pipe sizes
